Characters I love

Daryl Dixon

The Walking Dead
Played By: Norman Reedus

I didnt watch The Walking Dead until many years after it came out. I think they were just starting up season 8 when someone talked me into binge-watching the entire series. About halfway through I decided that Daryl was kinda hot... for a dirty redneck biker. Not long after that I was just plain totally in love with Daryl.

He's kind of rough. Often appears filthy. Does things like live in the woods for 6 months. His clothes look unnecessarily post-apocalyptic. I mean yeah, there was an apocalypse but no one else is wearing these haphazardly mended rags. His crossbow is his right arm and he is quite deadly.

And WHY is he single??? For like 8 years?

The best thing that ever happened to Daryl was the death of his overbearing older brother, Merle. That guy was omg.

Klaus Mikaelson

The Vampire Diaries
The Originals
Played By: Joseph Morgan

The guy you hate to love. I remember referring to him as "a lovable psychopath" and I think that about covers it.

Secretly a bastard son, Niklaus Mikaelson, his remaining siblings and their father, Mikael, were made into the world's first vampires by their mother, who was a gifted witch.

Both series take off when the siblings have been wandering the earth for about 1000 years.

This is one of the most complex and interesting fictional characters ever. I wish I could watch endlessly about Klaus and his struggles over the centuries but, unfortunately, The Originals was canceled with a lame, unsatisfying ending full of holes.

The series was great for its characters, however, the story line was over the top and too dramatic. You can't help but love Klaus. But then there is...

Elijah Mikaelson

The Vampire Diaries
The Originals
Played By: Daniel Gillies

...the heinous tyrant's hot brother. Elijah is overly manicured, super clean and absolutely always wears a suit, even tho they live in New Orleans. (There's a reason for it you learn later in the series) Elijah has all the qualities his younger brother Klaus lacks. He's sensitive. Seems to easily fall in love. He's easily hurt and clings to heartache for years. He feels it is his mission in life to save Klaus from his downward spiral. No matter how horrible Klaus is, no matter what he does, Elijah refuses to give up on him. It is his most endearing trait.

Like Klaus, he is a monster at heart and lacks empathy. He is fierce, unforgiving, and unmerciful.  He uses people as needed but to a far lesser degree. He is swift to kill anyone who threatens his family.

Yet another complex character I love to watch. Scenes between Klaus and Elijah are always particularly interesting. Especially when they get in fist fights since neither of them can die and heal instantly lol.

Doc Holliday

Tombstone
Played By: Val Kilmer

The character itself isnt what lands this one on my list, it is the acting performance by Val Kilmer that really brought Doc Holliday to life and made him the absolute highlight of this movie.

There is a long list of notable quotes. I'm your huckleberry is probably the most popular. My personal favorite has to be Say when. There is just something intimidating about a man who says such a thing at the start of a gun fight, like he's amused. I really dont think Ive ever enjoyed a movie character as much as this one. I wish the whole move had been about him and that he was in every scene.

Forrest Gump

Forrest Gump
Played By: Tom Hanks

Everyone knows Forrest. Aside from some fantastic acting, this is a great character. Being dumb seemed to lend Forrest a level of insight missed by the average person and it provided him a rather extraordinary life. I wont say too much about this one as pretty much every person on the planet is familiar with this movie.

Agents Fox Mulder & Dana Scully

The X-Files
Played By: David Duchovny
                  Jillian Anderson

I list them together because they truly are a pair. I wouldn't want to watch an episode of just Mulder with no Scully and, of course, the horrible 9th season featured many Scully-only episodes. They were lame. They both need to be present for The X-Files to really work.

The dynamic and romantic tension between them is intriguing and really draws the viewer in. Makes you secretly root for them. I really loved this show and always hold out hope for more of those mini-series or movies they occasionally toss us. I just wish  knew why somehow the Smoking Man is everybody's dad.

Harry Potter

Harry Potter and the (8 movies)
Played By: Daniel Radcliffe

I'm not a fan of this genre. I also dont like watching movies or reading books where the main characters are little kids. This one was so much different when I finally broke down and read the books... I was so on that bandwagon that, 17 years later, I still haven't fallen off.

By the end of the first book you really, really love Harry. I couldnt read the books fast enough. I remember going down to Media Play right at closing time and rushing, hoping to get there before the doors locked and just missing it. Then knocking on the door and begging the associate to PLEASE let me in. I promised to be in line before the last person got to the register. He said what do you want?

Me: Harry Potter book 3.

He let me in.
